Where can I enable in/out times (i.e., In/Out feature) when entering a timesheet?

The In/Out feature is controlled in the Validate In-Out Time In E-Timesheet field, located in the E-Time Sheet tab of the System Options screen in the System Data module. This field's drop-down is used to enable the validation for the in/out for FSLA types.

What is hour type validation and how does it affect the In/Out feature?

The Validate In/Out Time checkbox determines the availability of the Time In and Time Out fields for a particular hour type. If the box is checked, the fields will be available.

How do I add a new time entry?

1. Navigate to the Personal Timesheet screen.

2. Locate and click on the Add icon (Screenshot of Add icon.) to begin a new timesheet.

3. Select the desired activity in the Activity Type field (e.g., Job, Overhead, Equipment, Work Order).

4. Choose the hour type in the Hour Type field (e.g., Normal, Overtime, Double time).

5. Enter the time manually into the Time In field or use the Clock icon (Screenshot of Clock icon.) to use the clock interface.

6. Enter the required company, job, phase, and category information.

7. Specify the time in the Time Out field, which must be completed before saving the entry.

How does the system calculate total work hours?

The system computes total work hours by considering the Time In and Time Out records entered by the employee. The data is processed upon saving, and the employee can then view a detailed overview of their work hours and transaction specifics.

Can I copy and edit time entries?

Yes, the Copy Timesheet feature allows you to replicate information, including time in and time out details. Entries can also be independently adjusted while in a pending status.

How can I restrict an individual employee's access to the In/Out feature?

1. Navigate to the Employee Dashboard screen in the Human Resources module.

2. Search and select the specific employee.

3. Click on the Employee Access tab.

4. Check the Disable IN/OUT Time checkbox.

What new permissions have been added to the E-Time Role Maintenance screen?

The new permissions are the Allow E-Timesheet for Equipment and Allow E-Timesheet for Work-Order checkboxes. These permissions determine whether equipment and work order-related timesheets can be created in the Construct ESS app.

How do these new permissions affect user access when entering a timesheet?

Based on user access, the Equipment (E) and Work Order (W) options will be available in the Activity field's drop-down menu when entering a timesheet.

How can employees input their hours?

Employees can either enter their hours directly or input in and out times based on the System Options settings in the System Data module.

What happens after an employee saves their timesheet data?

After saving, employees will be able to view all recorded hours, including time-in and time-out values, directly on the Main screen.

What activities can be selected when entering a timesheet?

The activities that can be selected are based on the user's role and the defined settings in the System Options screen, specifically for equipment and work orders.

Can timesheet data be edited after it has been saved by an employee?

Yes, timesheet data can be edited if it has not been submitted. Once the timesheet is submitted, it becomes locked for editing to ensure data integrity and accurate recordkeeping.

Can a submitted timesheet data be edited by an approver?

Yes, an approver can edit a submitted timesheet if they have the Allow to update submitted timesheets privilege assigned under the E-Time Role Maintenance screen. This ensures that only authorized personnel can make changes to submitted timesheets, maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the Timesheet records.
