Tips for Improving Search Results on CMiC Assist

Use Quotation Marks

Try enclosing search terms in quotation marks. This is useful for restricting a search to locate terms that appear in an exact order.

For example, you might want to search for a phrase such as "Payroll Taxes".

Use Search Filters

Show results based on a selected search filter. This feature allows you to filter search results to show only topics in a specific product area.

NOTE Only one search filter can be selected at a time.

Click on the Filter icon (Search Filter Icon) next to the Search bar and select a product area to refine your search results.

Enabled search filter

Once you select a search filter (e.g., Getting Started), the Filter icon () will be displayed in a solid color to indicate that it is enabled and the default Search bar text prompt will include the name of the filter (e.g., Search Getting Started).

Entering a search

Enter your search term(s) in the Search bar (e.g., Enterprise Console), which will replace the text prompt. Click the Search icon (Search Icon) to review your results.

Reviewing filtered search results

The term(s) you searched for are highlighted in the filtered search results. To perform another search using the same term(s), click the Filter icon and select a different product area.

Do Not Search with Natural Language

Do not search with natural language in the Search bar.

For example, do not use a question such as "How do I write a new procedure?"
