Example of the Reviewer Section; standard Treeview path: CMIC Field > Communication Management > RFIs – RFI Detail tab – Reviewer section

The Reviewer section is used in various screens to add contacts responsible for checking and authorizing object records created in CMiC Field. In this example, we will be considering the Reviewer section from the RFI screen.

Please note that reviewers may only be added after the record has been saved.

[Add Reviewer] – Button

Screenshot of Reviewer Details section

Press this button to open the Reviewer Detail section, as shown above. Enter/select the contact being added, the due date for their response, and select the initial status given by them to the RFI. For more information about Submittal Status codes and how they relate to P and C type users, please refer to the Submittal Status screen in Local Tables.

If reviewers are to appraise the response in a particular order, enter the reviewer’s order number in the Step field. If appraisal from this reviewer is necessary, check the ‘Required’ box, which is checked by default.

NOTE: The 'Required' checkbox only applies to RFIs and is not available for Submittals.

When a new reviewer is added they are automatically assigned the next sequential step number. Reviewers can also be assigned the same step number. So, for example, there could be two reviewers with step number 1 and two with step number 2. Pressing the [Add Reviewer] button in this context automatically assigns the new reviewer a step number of 3.

When the RFI is submitted, an action item is sent to the step 1 reviewer. If this reviewer has their ‘Required’ box checked then the step 2 reviewer will not be sent a notification until after the initial review is complete.

When all details have been entered, press the [Save Reviewer Details] button.

NOTE: By default, users can only be added to a Reviewers table once. To add a user more than once to the Reviewers sections found in the RFI and Punch List Items screens, please refer to Allow User to be in Reviewers Table More Than Once .

[Select Template] – Button

Once the RFI has been saved, press this button to select a pre-made template of reviewers created using the [Create Template] button.

Reviewer templates can be created with the [Create Template] button or the Reviewer Template Maintenance screen (standard Treeview path: CMiC Field > File Maintenance > Local Tables > Reviewer Template Maintenance).

[Create Template] – Button

Enter a code and a name for the reviewer template before pressing the [Save] button. The template will contain all those reviewers and their details which were added to the current RFI using the [Add Reviewer] button.

[New Cycle] – Button

Press this button to create a new cycle of review. This keeps the reviewers already selected but removes any Action Dates. Previous cycles can be viewed using the Cycle field. Previous cycles may not be edited. If using the same reviewers for consecutive cycles, there should be a different mandatory reviewer.

NOTE: This button is only available in the Reviewer section for RFIs and Punch List Items and only if one of the following conditions is true:
1. The user is an internal C-type contact.
2. The user is included as a reviewer within the Review section.
3. The user has the Create New Review Cycle privilege for the relevant object on one of their assigned PM roles.

Email Notifications for Reviewers

NOTE: The updates in this section currently only apply to Submittals and RFIs.

To receive email notifications for reviewers, the user must have all boxes checked for Submittals and RFIs in the CC section of the Email Notifications tab of the Project Contact Directory screen.

Non-mandatory reviewers will receive an email when they are added as reviewers.

Mandatory reviewers will receive an email when the previous mandatory reviewer has completed their action.

Hiding the Reviewers Section

The Reviewers table can be hidden on a program-by-program basis. For more information on hiding the section on particular screens, please refer to Separate Project Role Security for Reviewers Table.
