Security
The CMiC Power BI Connector uses Basic Authentication, which relies on a static user login and does not support SSO. Therefore, the user account enabled for Power BI should not have SSO enabled. This functionality is already available today.
The CMiC APIs used by the Power BI Connector should point to a CMiC Cloud API server. For a list of Cloud API servers, see Cloud Web APP and API URLs. As such, authentication must be handled by a dedicated service account, ensuring seamless access to data sources without requiring interactive logins, which are typically used by SSO-enabled user accounts.
While the Power BI connector currently relies on Basic Authentication, OAuth 2.0 support for Cloud customers is planned for future releases.
