Sub Opportunities – Tab

The Sub Opportunities tab is hidden by default. If sub-opportunities are being used, then Lite Editor can be used to make this tab visible.
This screen is used to create bid jobs in the Job Costing module, which allows sub-opportunities to be tracked in the Win/Lose Bid screen, also located in the Job Costing module. A sub-opportunity can only be created after a bid job exists on the main opportunity.
NOTE: Auto numbering and auto create bid job options set on the OM Control File screen are applied to the sub-opportunity.
Opportunity Code
Enter a code for this sub-opportunity if auto-numbering is not set on the OM Control File screen.
Opportunity Name
Enter a name for the sub-opportunity.
Services Start, Services End
Enter a date range to indicate the scheduled duration of the sub-opportunity.
Ctrl Market Sector, Market Sector
These two fields function the same way for the main opportunity as for the sub-opportunity. Refer to the General tab for details on how these fields work.
Bid Job
A bid job will be created upon saving if the auto create bid job options has been turned on. Otherwise, users must click on [Create Bid Job] button to create a bid job for the sub-opportunity.
Bid Job Department
Enter/select the department for the bid job.
Construction Value
Enter a value for the construction.
Job, Department
The Job and Department fields will be updated when the bid job for the sub-opportunities is won.
[Data Sheet] – Button
Pop-up window launched from the [Data Sheet] button on the OM Sub Opportunities tab
This button launches a screen used to fill in the user-defined classifiers being used for this sub-opportunity .
The list of classifiers available on the data sheet are maintained on the Data Sheet Maintenance screen in the System Data module, as shown below.

[Create Bid Job] – Button
This button is used to create a bid job for the sub-opportunity if auto-create bid job options have not been enabled in the OM Control File screen.
Job Costing – Win Lost Bid
Pgm: JCBIDPRO – Updating Win/Lost Status on Bid Jobs; standard Treeview path: Job Costing > Job > Win/Lose Bid - Open Bids tab
The Win/Lose Bid screen in the Job Costing module is used to update the status of bid jobs. Four fields related to using the sub-opportunities feature are located on the Open Bids tab of this screen but they are hidden by default. If using sub-opportunities, use Lite Editor to make these fields visible.
Ctrl Job
This field will only be enabled in a bid's row when "Bid Won" is the selected status in the Lost/Win column. The default control job code will be the real job from the main opportunity if it exists; otherwise, it will be the bid job from the main opportunity. The control job code can be overridden to “ALL” prior to the start of the winning process.
Update Sub Job Ctrl Code – Checkbox
This checkbox is used to update the controlling job of those sub-jobs to the new won job. This field will only be enabled when "Bid Won" is the selected status in the Lost/Win column on this screen for the main bid job.
Create Project – Checkbox
This checkbox is used to create a project for the won job on the fly. It is only enabled in a bid's row when "Bid Won" is the selected status in the Lost/Win column.
[View Sub Jobs] – Button
This button is used to display the list of sub jobs that have been won that currently have the main bid job as the controlling job.
