Construct CT – Real-Time Dashboard Rules and Exceptions

When using the Construct CT app's Real-Time Dashboard screen, it’s helpful to understand how information will be displayed in the dashboard under various scenarios. For example, when employees may be clocking in and out multiple times throughout a shift, or when employees have been flagged with an exception alert because they are assigned to multiple or no crews.

NOTE: Exceptions must be cleared for any employee who has been flagged with an exception alert for all of the rules described below to apply. If the exception is not cleared, the employee's hours will be displayed on the dashboard but will not be recorded under any crew. Refer to Clearing an Exception for more information.

Real-Time Dashboard Rules for Clock In and Clock Out (Columns)

Screenshot of Real-Time Dashboard with Clock In and Clock Out fields highlighted.

NOTE: The times recorded under the Clock In and Clock Out columns will reflect the exact times employees punched in and out.

  1. If an employee clocks in and clocks out before the scheduled start time, the employee will not appear on the dashboard.

  2. Regardless of the schedule assigned to the employee, clock in and out will be recorded as per the employee's punch in and out time.

  3. In the case of multiple clock-ins and clock-outs, only the first clock-in and the last clock-out will be considered for that day.

  4. Crews without schedules must have the Automated Breaks feature turned on in the Construct CT app if they are using the Construct CHK app to record employee in/out activities. Employee hours will be recorded based on their actual clock-in and out times. Refer to Setting Up Automatic Breaks in the Construct CT app for more information.

Real-Time Dashboard Rules for Calculation of Regular and Overtime Hours (Columns)

Screenshot of Real-Time Dashboard with Regular and OT Hours columns highlighted.

NOTE: Early clock-in hours will be ignored for regular and overtime hours. Late clock-out hours will be considered for the regular and overtime hours.

If employees are eligible for overtime, their overtime hours will be displayed and regular hours will be calculated on the dashboard. The following rules apply for all overtime calculations.

  1. Clock-in time will be considered either from the scheduled start time or the actual time the employee punched in.

  2. Clock-out time will depend on whether the Automatic Clock-Out feature has been set up. If this feature has been enabled, then the clock out will be recorded as scheduled; otherwise, the actual employee clock-out time will be recorded.

Auto Break and Auto Clock-Out Rules

  1. If the Automatic Clock-Out feature is enabled in the crew’s schedule, employees are not required to manually clock out. The program will automatically clock them out at the end of their shift after the interval time defined on the schedule.

  2. If the Automated Breaks feature is enabled in the crew's schedule, employees are not required to manually punch in or out for breaks. The program will automatically record their breaks.

  3. All the calculations for regular and overtime hours will be done based on the above considerations.
