Construct CT – Using the Real-Time Dashboard
Overview
The Real-Time Dashboard captures the real-time activity of employees who are using the Construct CHK app to clock in/out and take breaks over the course of a shift on a job site. The Real-Time Dashboard can be launched under the Utilities section in the Construct CT menu. A Clock-In icon () and a Clock-Out icon () are used to highlight timesheet activities and allow the status of employees to be assessed and analyzed at a glance.
The moment an employee clocks in for their shift using the Construct CHK app, their time and attendance will automatically be shared and displayed in the Real-Time Dashboard screen in the Construct CT app. Timesheet activity will be captured and monitored throughout the day as the employee clocks in/out for breaks and clocks out at the end of their shift.
Clock In/Out Counter
A clock in/out counter is provided to help track totals under two categories:
-
The Clock-Out icon () displays total employees clocked out or on break.
-
The Clock-In icon () displays total employees clocked in.
Filter
This field is used to filter by selected crew. When a specific crew is selected, only members belonging to that crew will be displayed in the dashboard. Otherwise, if no crew is selected, all crew members will be displayed.
Search Bar
The Search field is used to search for a specific employee. It can search for employees by the employee number, first name, last name, prefix, suffix, middle name, or nickname.
Sort
The dashboard records can be sorted by header, in ascending or descending order, by clicking on a selected column header.
Dashes
The dashboard will not calculate any data and will display “-” for Break, Regular, and OT hours until the employee clocks out.
Employees Must be Assigned to a Single Crew
In general, when employees clock in or out of the Construct CHK app, these actions will be recorded in the Real-Time Dashboard in the Construct CT app. Clock-ins will be shown with a green Clock icon (), and clock-outs or breaks will be shown with a red Clock icon (). Employees clocking into the Construct CHK app may belong to one, many, or no crews.
Depending on the situation, they will fall into one of the following two categories:
-
Single Crew
-
Multiple or No Crews
Employees falling under the second category will trigger an alert, as every employee must be assigned to one single crew. Details for clearing these exceptions are covered below.
Single Crew
This type of employee only belongs to one crew at a time (i.e., the employee does not exist for any other crew and only works under a single defined crew).
Multiple or No Crews
This type of employee either belongs to multiple crews (i.e., more than one crew) or no crew. Employees falling under this category will trigger an exception alert as every employee must be assigned to a specific crew. The employee’s name will be highlighted in the Real-Time Dashboard screen with an Alert icon () until the exception is cleared.
Clearing an Exception
To clear an exception, click on the Alert icon located on the employee’s row. In the pop-up window, select a crew for the employee. The pop-up window displayed depends on whether the employee is assigned to multiple crews or no crew.
Pop-up launched when an employee is assigned to multiple crews
If the employee belongs to multiple crews, clicking the Alert icon will display a pop-up window which lists the various crews to which the employee is currently assigned. Select a single crew from the list. The pop-up window will close and the Alert icon will be cleared.
Pop-up launched when an employee has no crew assigned
If the employee has not been assigned to a crew, clicking the Alert icon will display a pop-up window which lists the various crews to which the employee could be assigned. Select a crew from the list. The pop-up window will close and the Alert icon will be cleared.
Dashboard Data Calculations
Once an employee clocks out at the end of their shift, the total clocked-in hours with break times are calculated and displayed in their respective columns. If an employee is entitled to overtime hours, any additional time over 8 hours will be counted as overtime. If an employee is not entitled to overtime, then all hours will be counted as regular time. The dashboard only displays clocked-in employees, therefore if an employee does not clock in using the Construct CHK app, then the dashboard will contain no data for that employee.
Exceptions and rules exist for crews with and without schedules, and crews with breaks and clock-out automation. For details, refer to Real-Time Dashboard Exceptions and Rules.
