Using the Simple Menu Tool

Overview

This process explains how to use CMiC Enterprise's Simple Menu tool, which allows users to quickly launch a UI Runtime program, log, or process.

Users require security access to be assigned to programs but do not require Treeview menu access.

NOTE: Context related screens may not load properly (e.g., invoice screens normally generated from a prepare billing screen).

Process

Step 1: Launch the Simple Menu tool.

CMiC Enterprise's Simple Menu tool is found under the Select a Tool column of the Development Tools section on the Enterprise launch page. Users need to select Simple Menu under the Select a Tool section, choose an environment under the Select an Environment section, and then click on the [Launch Dev Tools] button.

Step 2: Select a workspace.

Select a workspace at the top of the Simple Menu screen. A workspace is a custom collection of application modules and their programs and can either be published or unpublished. A published workspace cannot be changed. In the screenshot above, the workspace "CMICSTANDARD" is published and cannot be changed.

Step 3: Select an application module.

Next, select an application module. The associated programs, logs, and processes are displayed in the tabs at the bottom of the screen. In the screenshot above, the tabs display information for the selected Accounts Payable module.

Step 4: Select a program, log, or process definition to run.

On the Program and Log Definitions tab, select a program or log. The following options are available:

• Click on the Program Name link to run the UIRuntime program or log in normal mode.

• Click on the Debug icon () to run the UIRuntime program or log in debug mode.

• Click on the Builder icon () to run the program or log definition in UI Layout Builder. This option is only available for unpublished workspaces.

  NOTE: Users require the configuration privilege 'UIPRGCRT – UI Program Builder: Allow User to Create/Edit Program Definition' to make any changes in UI Layout Builder. For more information, please refer to Define Roles.

Process Definitions – Tab

On the Process Definitions tab, select a process. The following options are available:

• Click on the Process Name link to run the UIRuntrain process in normal mode.

• Click on the Builder icon () to run the process definition in Process Builder. For more information, please refer to Process Builder – R12.

  NOTE: Users require the configuration privilege 'UIPRCBCRT – UI Process Builder: Allow User To Create/Edit Custom Process Definition' to make any changes in Process Builder. For more information, please refer to Define Roles.
