US Payroll - Re-Number Employee Number

Pgm: PYRENEMP; Re-Number Employee Number; standard Treeview path: US Payroll > Utilities > Renumber Employee ID

This utility allows an admin user to re-number employees for a specified company pay run in all tables. Once changed, there is no automated reversal to the previous numbering system, so ensure that this function is only used when the impact of employee re-numbering is fully understood.

NOTE: The Re-Number Employee Number screen is only available to Enterprise users and not Cloud users. Enterprise users can add this screen to the Utilities submenu using the Treeview Builder. Only users with admin access (e.g., DA user) will be able to add and execute the utility.

Re-Number – Tab

Company Code

Enter/select the company code.

PayRun Code

Enter/select the pay run code.

Employee No.

Enter/select an employee number or "ALL" to re-number a range of employees. Selecting "ALL" will enable the Starting Employee No. field.

New Employee No.

Enter a new employee number.

Last Employee No.

This field is read-only and displays the last employee number (integer value).

Starting Employee No.

This field is enabled when "ALL" is selected in the Employee No. field. Enter a starting employee number (integer value).

Employee Status

Select whether to re-number only active employees, only non-active employees, or all employees.

[Re-Number] – Button

Press this button to re-number the employees.

NOTE: Only a DA user or a user with admin privileges will be able to execute the utility.

Constraints and Triggers – Tab

Pgm: PYRENEMP; Re-Number Employee Number – Constraints and Triggers tab

This tab is used to view and enable database constraints and triggers that may affect re-numbering. Press the [Refresh] button to view any existing constraints and/or triggers. Press the [Enable All] button to enable any disabled constraints and/or triggers.
