US Payroll - Tax Settings

Pgm: PYTAXSET – Tax Settings; standard Treeview path: US Payroll > Administration > Taxes > Settings

The Tax Settings screen is used to configure the interaction between Vertex and the Enterprise system. If the directories are not set up according to the configuration of the installed software, taxes are not calculated when processing Payroll.

This section should only be modified by the system administrator or on direction from a CMiC consultant.

NOTE: If a new user account is used when processing Payroll, a new row must be inserted to specify the temporary directory used for system calculations.

Setup Type

Enter/select the setup type. This may be the user ID for Enterprise R12.

User

Enter/select the required user code. This is only required when assigning the user path working directory.

Value

Select the required directory location.

Description Types

The following descriptions are associated with the values listed below:

DLL Path

This is the location of the file PYCALC02.dll.

Application

This is the location and file name for the file PYCALC01.exe.

Tax Database

Set the value to “I”.

Database Path

Set this to the directory that contains all the Vertex.dbf files

User Path

Set this to the working directory where each unique user is able to create temporary working files. Each user who processes payroll must have an entry against this description.

Web Server DLL Path

This is the location accessible by the Web Server, of the file PYCALC02.dll.

Web Server Application Path

This is the location accessible to the Web Server for the file PYCALC01.exe.

Web Server Database Path

Set this to the web server directory that contains all the Vertex.dbf files.
