I/O Email - Sender Name Now Appears in the Email From Field

Why is it Useful?

CMiC has added a feature to I/O Email so that the sender's name now appears in the Email From field. This enhancement allows users to customize how the sender's name appears in the I/O Email.

NOTE: This feature was released in Patch 15-1 under Issue 20.28324.

How Does it Work?

CMiC I/O Options and Personal Names

I/O emails can be configured in the System Data - CMiC I/O Options screen (standard Treeview path: System > Setup > CMiC I/O Options).

One important preference to consider is the Personal Name field in the Parameters section, shown above. When users receive I/O emails, the [I/O From Contact] value given in the template is given as "Sender Name via Personal Name". So an I/O email sent from the user displayed above would appear in the recipient's inbox as being from "Joan Smith via CMiC".

If the Personal Name field is left blank then a default value of "CMiC I/O" is used.

An example of what this looks like in Outlook is provided below.
