Jasper Reports - Jasper Studio 8.0.2 Installation

Overview

Jasper Studio is the iReports replacement. This is a rebranding of iReports with a few new features:

  • Changes IDE from NetBeans to Eclipse.

  • The same .jrxml files are produced, but the look and feel has been changed.

  • Many known bugs in iReports have been fixed.

  • Added the concept of Projects (collections of .jrxml files) to be opened/saved together.

Instructions are based on a Windows 10 computer/laptop. Linux and Mac OS X versions are not supported by CMiC.

Pre-requisites

  • Windows 10

  • Requires Java 8 SDK (or higher)

  • May require either a CMiC VPN or CMiC Oracle Wallet (provided by CMiC IT) if connecting to the CMiC Hosted Database

  • Database Connection Information

    For ERP clients, this is dependent on your setup. Please check with your DBAs if you are unsure.

    Name: Reasonable Name identifying the database (like Client TEST or Client PROD, …)
    JDBC Url:

    jdbc:tibcosoftware:oracle://192.168.0.140:1521;SID=DEVV10X

    (where IP Address and SID provided by your DBA)
    Username: uig
    Password: Password is supplied by your DBA

    For Cloud Clients, CMiC will provide the CLIENT_CODE and password:

    Name: Reasonable Name identifying CMiC Cloud Test database
    Username: CLIENT_CODE[cmic_report_writer] where CLIENT_CODE is supplied by CMiC
    Password: Password is supplied by CMiC

Installation

The CMiC_Jasper_Studio_8_0_2_Installation.zip file is now available for ERP clients and Premium Cloud clients on the CMiC FTP site folder \jaspersoft.

Installation instructions are included in the ZIP file in CMiC_JasperStudio_8_0_2_Installation_Guide.docx.
