Job Costing - Profit Plan Source Definition

This screen allows grouping categories into source codes and assigning calculation methods. A profit plan can be defined against different groups of categories, e.g. trades, fees, insurance, and general conditions. In order to give future flexibility and to ensure that the standard WIP screen can support category groupings, the Profit Plan Source Definition screen has been built to accommodate a number of source codes. Each source code can be associated with one or more categories.

The Achieved Calculated As field can have the following values:

• Billed-Cost

• Buyout

• N/A

The value entered here will determine the calculation for the Achieved column in the WIP screen.

The Recognition Type field can have the following values:

• % Complete

• N/A

• From % Complete

• @ Completion

• @ Close

The Profit Plan Source Definition screen also has a checkbox column for Support Services. When checked the sources will be identified as support services. The support services will be set equal to actual JTD value (recorded costs to date) and the override total anticipated profit will be set equal to the actual JTD value multiplied by -1. The only exception to this logic is if the job is closed, both values will be set to zero.
