Human Capital Management - Salary Grade
This screen can be used to set up codes for different strata of salary. These codes are used in conjunction with regions set up in the Human Resources module in Enterprise to scale salaries depending on the region in which the employee works (standard Treeview path: Human Resources > Setup > Local Tables > Regions). The codes are also used by the Payroll module. The codes defined in this screen can be used in the Job Classification screen.
Salary Grade Maintenance
Min Amount, Mid Amount, Max Amount
Enter the salary range to which the grade applies.
Effective Date
Enter/select the date from which the salary grade is in effect.
Currency
Select the currency of the salary grade. These currencies can be set in the Currencies screen in Enterprise (standard Treeview path: System > Global Tables > Banking > Currencies).
Salary Region Grade Maintenance
To bring up this section, select a code from the Code field. Press the [New] button to add a new salary grade region to the code.
Region
Enter/select the region. The name of the region appears in the Region Name field.
Region Differential
Enter the percentage increase employees in the selected salary grade receive when working in the selected region. This number can be either positive or negative. For example, in the screenshot above, employees in the M101 grade receive a salary increase of 10% when working in Washington DC and a decrease of 5% when working in Florida.
