Construct CT - Assigning Default Categories

Overview

Construct CT allows users to add and prioritize multiple default categories in the Crew Maintenance and Timesheet Entry screens, enhancing accuracy in cost code assignment and streamlining configuration flexibility. This process optimizes cost code assignment by factoring in priorities, phase definitions, and company-level defaults, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in default category assignment.

Users should be mindful of the system's automatic assignment based on predefined defaults when selecting cost codes.

When adding an activity in the Construct CT Crew Maintenance or Timesheet Entry screens, the system will evaluate the phase definitions in the set priority order. If a default category is specified with priority, it will automatically be assigned to the selected task.

For the "Add Single Task" option, there is no change in the functionality and the user is still required to manually select the category from the LOV to add the task.

Users will be prompted with an error message when specific scenarios lack defined default categories.

Selecting Multiple Cost Codes

When selecting multiple cost codes, Construct CT will scan the default categories based on the configured priority sequence and the first matching default category will be assigned to the activity. If no matching default category is found, an error message will prompt the user for resolution.

Company-Level Defaults

Default categories configured at the company level are considered and cost codes linked to these defaults are displayed in the LOV for selection.
